The formula

Heads chance = 50% + SP, clamped to 5%–95%

SP runs from −45 to +45, so heads chance bottoms out at 5% and caps at 95%.

Multiple coins compound

This is where Sanity actually earns its keep. Three coins all landing heads:

  • At 0 SP: 0.5³ = 12.5%
  • At +20 SP: 0.7³ = 34.3%
  • At +45 SP: 0.95³ = 85.7%

Going from 0 to +45 SP not even doubles the heads rate, but it multiplies the chance of three heads by almost seven.

Which is why losing SP hurts more than it looks

At −45 SP, three coins all landing tails is 85.7% likely. That is why panic is so punishing in practice — it does not degrade linearly, it collapses.
